St. Bernadette Dress Code Policy Revised: March 2025
As per the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board’s mandatory school uniform policy, students are required to adhere to the uniform policy as outlined below, This uniform policy has been updated for the 2024/25 school year. The uniform shall consist of a navy blue or white top and navy blue bottoms. The following outlines the policy for uniforms:
Tops:

Solid navy or white (long sleeved/short sleeved polos, sweaters, blouses or turtle necks)

Must be crested (crests can be purchased through the main office)

Shirts must have a collar

Shirts underneath the uniform must be navy or white

Navy blue crested hoodies – note: a uniform/collared shirt is needed underneath if the student plans on removing their sweater.

Jumpers must be worn with a short/ long sleeved shirt underneath
Bottoms:

Must be navy blue only

Casual “docker” style pants, walking shorts, skorts with no other markings

No leggings for grade 7 and 8 students

Cargo pants, cords, zippered leg, denim, bike shorts or running shorts are not allowed.

Track pants are only permitted if they appear tidy, unfaded and somewhat resemble a regular uniform khaki pants.

Skirts must be a of a reasonable length (no shorter than one palm above the knee)

No undergarments are to be visible at any times
Socks/Nylons/Tights:

Running shoes are preferred.

Clothes must be appropriate for a Catholic school setting

Shorts and skirts: Must be reasonable in length

If logos are present, they must be in keeping with Catholic school values.
