April 2nd is World Autism Day

Dear Parents,

I hope this letter finds you well. As part of our commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive community, I wanted to bring your attention to an important event and share some valuable information regarding World Autism Awareness Day.

April 2nd is recognized globally as World Autism Awareness Day, a day dedicated to raising public awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This day serves as an opportunity to acknowledge and recognize the individuals within our community, including our family members, friends, neighbors, classmates, and colleagues, who are living with ASD.

According to Autism Ontario, autism touches more than 70 million people worldwide. In Canada, approximately 1 in 66 children and youth are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and this number continues to grow. It's crucial to understand the challenges that individuals with autism face every day and to offer our support and encouragement.

In the spirit of solidarity and support, we encourage everyone to wear blue on Tuesday, April 2nd, as a symbol of recognition and solidarity with people living with autism.

Additionally, we're excited to inform you about the upcoming Autism Awareness Carnival Day, which will be held on Saturday, April 27th. This event aims to promote awareness, acceptance, and inclusion within our community.

Sincerely,

Mr. Iassogna
