Dear St. Bernadette Families,
We would like to begin by thanking all parents and guardians for using School Messenger to inform the office when your child will be absent, arriving late, or being dismissed early. Your cooperation helps us keep our attendance records accurate and ensures the safety of all students.
Recently, we have experienced several situations where a student was signed out for a specific time, the office called the student down and prepared them for dismissal, but the parent or guardian did not arrive until 15–20 minutes later. When this happens, students miss valuable classroom time while waiting in the office.
To help ensure students remain in class for as long as possible, students will now be called down to the office only after the parent or guardian has arrived at the school to pick them up.
If you would like your child to be ready to go (packed up, dressed, etc.), you are welcome to send a note in their agenda to their teacher. However, the student will remain in the classroom until the parent or guardian arrives.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep students learning in the classroom for as long as possible.
We have had another wonderful week here at St. Bernadette. Each day, I continue to be impressed by the kindness and maturity our students show one another. Their willingness to forgive, to move forward, and to rebuild friendships is something we can all learn from. They remind us that grace is often found in the simplest gestures.
As we continue our journey through the season of Lent, this spirit of forgiveness and reflection feels especially meaningful. It has been inspiring to see students embracing opportunities for prayer, service, and quiet acts of compassion throughout the school.
A quick reminder that our Talent Show will take place on Tuesday, March 10th at 1:30 p.m. We are looking forward to celebrating the creativity and courage of our students as they share their gifts with our community.
