🌷 Happy March Break, St. Bernadette Family!
As we head into a well‑earned week of rest, may God’s blessings follow you into every slow morning, every joyful moment, and every little adventure. May this break be filled with laughter, renewal, and maybe even a miracle or two — like finding the bottom of the laundry basket.
Wishing our whole community a happy, holy, and wonderfully refreshing March Break!
Monday March 23 – World Down Syndrome Day Awareness 🧦
Students are encouraged to wear mismatched or colourful socks to show support for people with Down syndrome.
Did you know?
-
Down syndrome occurs when a person is born with an extra copy of chromosome 21.
-
The date 3/21 represents the three copies of the 21st chromosome.
-
People wear mismatched socks because chromosomes can look like mismatched socks under a microscope and the socks help start conversations about inclusion and acceptance.
Let’s celebrate differences and promote kindness by rocking our socks!
Tuesday March 24
-
Mad Science for students who have signed up.
-
Reconciliation for Mrs. Morden’s class and any students who missed the first day.
-
Hot Dog & Chicken Burger Day
Thursday March 26– Wear Purple for Epilepsy 💜
Students and staff are encouraged to wear purple to raise awareness for epilepsy.
About Epilepsy
-
Epilepsy is a neurological condition that causes repeated seizures.
-
It affects people of all ages and is one of the most common brain conditions.
-
Wearing purple helps show support and spread awareness.
If you are able, please consider making a small donation through School Cash Online.
Also on Thursday – The Great Big Crunch 🍎
Our school will take part in The Great Big Crunch, a fun event that celebrates healthy school food. Students will join others across the country by taking a big crunchy bite of a fruit or vegetable together to support healthy eating in schools.
