We hope this message finds you well and that you continue to enjoy the blessings of February as we journey together toward the Lenten Season. We are pleased to share the events and activities taking place within our school community during the week of February 16–20, 2026.
Family Day – Monday, February 16
We begin the week with Family Day, a welcome opportunity to pause from our routines and spend meaningful time with those closest to us. We hope your day is filled with rest, connection, and joy as you celebrate the gift of family.
Shrove Tuesday – Tuesday, February 17
On Tuesday, our community will gather in a spirit of fellowship for our annual Shrove Tuesday celebration, lovingly hosted by our Catholic School Council.
- Each child will enjoy two warm, nut-free pancakes, prepared this year by the Air Force Club.
- The CSC is requesting a $2 donation per child to support the event.
- Families requiring gluten-free, dairy-free, or egg-free alternatives are invited to contact the council and/or email the school at [email protected] so that we can ensure an inclusive experience for all students.
This cherished tradition brings joy to our students while gently preparing our hearts for the reflective season of Lent.
Ash Wednesday – Wednesday, February 18
On Wednesday, our school community will gather in prayer to observe Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the Lenten season. This important day in our Catholic faith invites us to reflect, renew, and grow spiritually. Through prayer and the distribution of ashes, we are reminded of the call to kindness, compassion, and strengthening our relationship with God.
We invite all families to join us in the gym at 1:00 p.m. for a school-wide liturgy celebrated with Father Whitfield.
We look forward to coming together in faith as we begin this sacred season as a community.
Term 1 Report Cards Sent Home
Please note: Term One report cards will also be sent home on Wednesday, February 18. We encourage families to take time to review their child’s progress and celebrate their achievements. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the report card further, please contact your child’s teacher.
Skate Day – Friday, February 20
Friday marks another exciting Skate Day for our students. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoy this opportunity for physical activity and school spirit.
Please ensure students bring:
- Skates
- A CSA‑approved helmet
- Appropriate winter clothing

Year One Kindergarten Observations
Throughout the week, our educators will be conducting Year One Kindergarten observations. These observations are an important part of our ongoing assessment process and help us support each child’s learning and development. If additional information is required, your child’s classroom teacher will reach out to you directly.
Black History Month – February
Throughout February, our school is recognizing Black History Month. Students will take part in meaningful learning experiences that highlight the achievements, contributions, and rich cultural heritage of Black Canadians and Black communities worldwide. This is a valuable opportunity for students to reflect on themes of equity, inclusion, respect, and the diverse stories that shape our shared history.
