Dear Saint Bernadette Catholic Community,

As we approach the blessed Advent season, I would like to share with you some of the meaningful initiatives and events that await us in December. This season calls upon us to reflect, prepare, and extend our hands in compassion to those in need, embodying the spirit of giving and community that defines our parish.

Firstly, I'd like to highlight our upcoming Hamper Drive, running from December 1st to 15th. This initiative aims to support families in need within our community. Classes will be collecting items during this period, and we encourage everyone to participate generously to bring hope and comfort to those who require our assistance.

Moreover, mark your calendars for our Family Advent Carol Night scheduled for December 14th at Saint Augustine Church, commencing at 6:30 PM. Further details about this heartwarming event will be sent your way soon. Let's gather as a community to celebrate the joyous melodies that resonate with the Advent season.

Here's a glimpse of other significant events taking place in December that all parents/guardians are welcome to attend:

  • Pink Shirt Day (Dec 1st): Encouraging our Catholic students to exhibit leadership qualities, challenge societal norms, and stand against bullying and discrimination.

  • Advent Week 1 Mass at St. Augustine (Dec 8th): All are invited to join us for this special mass at 10:15 AM.

  • Joy Day (Dec 6th): Students will prepare their classrooms for the arrival of Christ. Stay tuned for specific requests.

  • St. Lucia Liturgy (Dec 13th): Grade 2 students only will lead the liturgy at 10 AM in the Gym.

  • Advent Week Celebrations (Dec 13th, 18th, 22nd): Join us for reflective moments as we observe the progression through the Advent weeks.

  • Book Fair (Dec 5th - 7th): Students will have the opportunity to explore and shop. Parents are welcome on December 7th until 7 PM.

  • Civvies Days (Every Friday in December and last 3 days before Christmas break): Please note these will be full civvies days.

All these events and dates have been posted on our website for your convenience.

Let's embrace this season of Advent by fostering generosity, compassion, and togetherness within our community. Your participation and support in these initiatives make a significant difference in the lives of those around us.

Wishing you a blessed and joy-filled Advent season ahead. Have a wonderful weekend!

Warm regards,

Mr. Iassogna
