Dear St. Bernadette Community,
As we come to the end of another school year, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your continued support, partnership, and dedication to Catholic education. Your encouragement and collaboration make a tremendous difference in the lives of our students and in the life of our school.
To our incredible students—thank you for living out the St. Bernadette School Pledge every day. This year, I was especially moved by how you consistently recognized the worth in others and supported one another with kindness. At a recent assembly, I told you how impressed I was by your willingness to make right choices and to forgive. Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is one of the most Christ-like qualities we can practice, and I saw that spirit alive in our school.
To our dedicated staff—thank you for your tireless commitment to delivering rich, engaging curriculum and for always putting student learning first. Beyond the classroom, your generosity with your time and talents has created countless meaningful opportunities for students. Whether leading school teams, preparing drama or air band performances, organizing faith-filled liturgies, running clubs, coordinating field trips, or coaching sports, you have gone above and beyond to make St. Bernadette a vibrant place to learn and grow.
This year alone, students had the chance to participate in volleyball, basketball, track and field, intramurals, choir, air bands, coding clubs, book fairs, movie nights, Rosary Apostolate, student-led liturgies, and so much more. These activities enrich our students' lives and help build the strong sense of community that defines our school.
A very special thank you as well to our administrative team: Mrs. Marino, Mrs. Giacomelli, Madame Carey-Urban, and Mrs. Tardiff. These four incredible women go above and beyond every day to ensure our school runs smoothly and that every child feels safe, seen, and cared for. Their dedication behind the scenes is deeply appreciated and essential to the heart of our school.
And a special note of thanks to Mrs. Tardiff, our Administrative Assistant, who has the challenging task of dealing with me all day—and somehow still manages to do it with grace and a smile. Her professionalism, patience, and sense of humour are appreciated more than words can express.
We are also grateful for the many ways our community came together to support school activities this year—from our vibrant Halloween Move-a-Thon, to the joyful Air Band performances, to our thoughtful Catholic Education Week events. These moments enriched our school life and reflected the strength of our school-family partnership.
Thank you to those of you who took the time to submit classroom placement requests for your children. A reminder that unique requests are not an opportunity to select a teacher. We understand that a few students have unique needs and we do our best to meet those needs. We take these submissions seriously and do our very best to ensure each child is placed in a learning environment that meets their needs and helps them flourish. You can expect to receive an email the week before school begins with information about your child’s class assignment.

We thank them for their dedication and the love they brought to our school, and we wish them all the best as they continue in their educational careers. A special farewell and blessing go to Mrs. Luongo as she prepares to welcome a new baby—our prayers and warmest wishes go with her.
Finally, I want to thank our Catholic School Council, led by Mrs. Bellamy, for their tireless efforts in helping us meet school goals and enrich our school life.
On behalf of the entire St. Bernadette staff, I wish all our families a joyful, safe, and restful summer. May the coming weeks be filled with sunshine, laughter, and precious time with loved ones.
Summer Blessing:
May God, who makes all things new, refresh your spirit this summer.
May He watch over your journeys, bring peace to your homes,
and return us all safely in the fall—rested, renewed, and ready for another year of learning and growing in faith.
With gratitude and blessings,
Mr. Lucio Iassogna
