Dear St. Bernadette Parents/Guardians,
We hope everyone enjoys a restful and enjoyable March Break! As we look ahead, we have several exciting events planned for our students and families. Please mark your calendars for the following important dates:
March 17 - St. Patrick’s Day Civvies Day
To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, students are encouraged to wear green or a touch of green as part of their full civvies attire.
March 21 - World Down Syndrome Day
World Down Syndrome Day is a global awareness day officially recognized by the United Nations since 2012. The 21st day of the 3rd month was chosen to symbolize the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. This day promotes understanding and support for individuals with Down syndrome. #WorldDownSyndromeDay
To raise awareness, we encourage all students to wear mismatched socks or colorful socks on this day.
March 25 - First Reconciliation (Grade 2 Students)
Our Grade 2 students will be receiving their First Reconciliation at 1:00 PM in the school gymnasium. Father Whitfield will be administering the sacrament to our students. We are excited to have our students receive this important sacrament. Parents and guardians are warmly invited to join us for this significant occasion.
March 26 - Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness
March 26 is "Purple Day," an international day dedicated to epilepsy awareness. Students are encouraged to wear purple or a touch of purple in support of those living with epilepsy. This will be a full civvies day.
We are also asking each student to submit a $2 donation, with all proceeds going to support Epilepsy Ontario.
EQAO Assessment - June 2 to June 9
Our EQAO Assessment will take place from June 2 to June 9. We look forward to continuing the outstanding achievements that St. Bernadette students have demonstrated on the Ontario Assessment.
Hot Dog Tuesdays - April & May
To get into the summer spirit, we will be serving hot dogs along with a bag of chips and a boxed drink every Tuesday in April and May. Stay tuned for further details!
Thank you for your continued support in making St. Bernadette a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow.
Sincerely,
St. Bernadette School Administration
