Happy New Year, St. Bernadette Community!

As we begin 2026 together, I want to extend my heartfelt wishes for a year filled with joy, good health, and God’s abundant blessings. May the light of Christ continue to guide our paths and inspire us to live with compassion, gratitude, and purpose.

I’m pleased to share that we had an excellent first week back at school. Our students returned with tremendous enthusiasm, and our staff began the year with great energy and dedication. We ended the week with a beautiful liturgy led by Mrs. Morden’s Grade 1/2 class, who provided us with thoughtful reflections on Christ’s presence in our daily lives.

Following the liturgy, we were once again uplifted by the wonderful singing of our school choir. A special thank you to Mr. van der Zalm, who continues to lead the choir with great care and skill. They sound better and more confident every week, and their voices added a joyful and prayerful spirit to our celebration.

We also continued our focus on Habit 3: Put First Things First, an important habit that encourages us to prioritize what truly matters. Habit 3 reminds us to focus our time and attention on what is most meaningful, rather than what simply feels urgent. For our students, this means:

  • choosing responsibility before distraction,
  • completing work before play,
  • setting goals and following through,
  • and making choices that reflect their values and faith.

This habit aligns with Christ’s teachings—to build our lives upon strong foundations of love, purpose, and service. When we “put first things first,” we align our actions with who God calls us to be.

Thank you for your continued support as we begin this new year of learning, growth, and faith.

Wishing you and your families a joyful and grace‑filled New Year!
